 Kita Tool - a web application for all target groups at hostpital Zollikerberg

As a hospital with a public service mandate, the Zollikerberg Hospital contributes to optimal medical care in the greater Zurich area and treats all patients - regardless of their insurance class - with equal care and according to the highest quality criteria.

 

To make it easier for employees to look after their children, the Zollikerberg Hospital has a fixed contingent of childcare places in a nearby daycare centre (nursery). In the past, the attendance of the children was managed with Excel lists and via email, which increasingly led to problems. The administrative effort for all parties involved was high and the utilization of the places was not optimal.

In addition, the employees (parents/legal guardians) have no way of seeing when and how many day care places are available.

 

Intuitive and lean structure

 

Since the administration of the daycare places was previously based on Excel, we were allowed to create a completely new web application.

We focused on intuitive and therefore user-friendly operation, a clear design and a scalable data and role model.

 

Our common goal - the application must be clearly arranged and easy to use for all users without any training.

 

The personalized logins for all target groups (parents/guardians, supervisors, personnel administration and daycare personnel) ensure data security and the user group of parents/guardians, for example, only their own bookings are displayed in detail and booked places of other parents and their children are only shown as occupied, without details.

The master data such as the monthly quota or holidays and public holidays are managed independently by the employees of the personnel department. All data is available in real time for all involved. The manual sending of Excel lists and emails to inform everyone about the current status is a thing of the past.

 

One service for all

 

Functions such as requests for support days, the release of bookings and evaluations are available 7x24 hours via standard Internet browsers.

 

The web application is operated in Swisscom's data centre and is used as a service by the Zollikerberg hospital.  Maintenance and support is provided by Comitas AG.
